My last post featured two of the small class sample quilts I was working on in
Diane Gaudynski's workshop...I was determined to get them both finished so they didn't end up in the UFO pile...goal accomplished! I put in the final stitches early this morning, washed and blocked them and the binding is stitched on and ready to be finished up.
I think I enjoyed this piece as I didn't fence myself in. It was only a class sample and I could doodle and play and be at recess. I used up 7 half-empty bobbins on the back just because I could...I added a large variety of background techniques that were taught in class as well as adding a few of my own...and I found I have fallen completely in love with Diane's style of feathering...it almost makes my heart skip. Hugs, Cindy :)
oooooooh :)

ReplyDeleteStunning!!! Really really amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteHard to think of this as a class sample. I think of it as a work of art. A true masterpiece. Love it. Want to gaze at it four hours. Great job.

You ROCK! Congratulations on finishing up your "sample" (masterpiece IMHO). I love the pearls among the mosaic meandering. Fantastic job!!

ReplyDeleteHard to believe this is just a sample!! WOW!! :) So gorgeous!! I was just thinking of you in the last few days as I was cleaning out my sewing/quilting stash and ran across my mariner's compass quilt top that you made me for graduating college. I want to finish it... I guess I need to make some time to come take one of your classes or, even better, retreats! :)
