My Designs Workshop...Part One
Well it has been a very intense, exciting, exhausting, inspiring and fun-filled week while conducting my first 5-day "My Designs" workshop. This is something that I've been planning since last spring and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous about how it was all going to come together. There are so many details that have to come together perfectly...and of course I wanted it perfect.
My first group of retreaters knew they were my guinea pigs and they were the perfect group to test this out on. There were a couple hiccups along the way but nothing major and just speaking for myself...we all had a ball.
This set of pictures shows the wonderful ball room we had to nest in...tons of room to work and nobody was jammed together. I had great "story boards" set up to hang all the quilted workshop samples for the lectures...a doubly stocked Open Thread Bar for the students' use during the week...tons of stencils. Each day started with Show and Tell or Show and Help...lecture...and then uninterrupted gravy sewing time until 9 pm each night.
There was anxiety and brick walls along the way while everyone learned how to design... how make stencil designs their own... and how to fill with beautiful backgrounds and fills.
The next post will show some of the beautiful work that came out of this workshop.
Hugs, Cindy :)

You only stitched until 9pm? With your inspiration I would have not been able to stop!
Hmmm, a picture of us sitting under the handicapped sign....was that an omen? LOL
