"My Beginners" Workshop

One of the big goals I set for myself for this year was to start holding extended workshops...one in Design and the other in Beginning Machine Quilting. I spent this past weekend with 20 beginning students and had a wonderful time!

I LOVE to teach but am constantly frustrated that I am locked into a 6-hour class. I only have a little bit time with each student during the workshop and have precious little time to share a lot of information.

By conducting a 3-day workshop in a conference room at the Hyatt I was not restricted by a store or guild's schedule. I could take as much time as I wanted for the lecture, for questions, for demo's, etc. If a particular part of class went longer than I expected...oh well! My students were able to indulge in quality time with their machines and I was able to indulge in quality time with each of them and I appreciated every moment.

I was amazed at how well everyone did...there wasn't one person there that didn't greatly improve her machine quilting skills and I feel each and every one of them left with a solid foundation of good information.

I am busy getting ready for my second Designs workshop which will be held at the Superior Threads Education Center in St. George, UT next week so look for some upcoming blog posts from there...

Hugs, Cindy :)
