Featuring Kris Lambertus!

I just finished up my Design Workshop on Sunday and came home to a wonderful email and Show and Tell from Kris.  I met Kris while teaching in Wickenburg, Arizona and she marked this linen wholecloth piece during the class.  Love to see the finished projects...thanks for sharing Kris!

I just finished this small piece (29x29).  The linen had the drawn threadwork and padded white embroidery that you see in the corners and draped around the drawn threads and was plain in the middle.  I used Cindy's basket stencil for the center and quilted it with a thick dark peach-colored thread to make it stand out like embroidery.  I used So Fine #50 for most of the rest of the quilting.  It's really pretty simple, but I am happy with how it turned out.  I used an old doily for a Cindy-style label on the back.

I am signed up for Cindy's class this fall and am looking forward to learning paisley feathers and more background styles.

So inspiring! Kris did such a wonderful piece....a reflection of the talented tutoring she received, I am sure! Alas, my summer commitments will use up any time I have so the stacks of linens, that are quietly calling my name (in the corner of my sewing room), will wait a little longer to be brought forth in quilted splendor. Hugs, Doreen
