"My Designs" Workshop

I just got home from hostessing the  "My Designs" workshop in Rancho Cordova.  I had the privilege of taking 25 students on a journey of design.  We had five jam-packed days of learning all about threads, how to choose and use quilting designs in both pieced tops and wholecloth quilts; learning how to make designs their own; backgrounds and  feathers.  There were several practice pieces that were worked on and the finale was designing and quilting their beautiful class sample.

I LOVE to teach this workshop...it's always fun to watch my students arrive a bit apprehensive, not knowing what to expect and wondering if they'll be able to "do it"...and then on days 4 and 5 they just blossom and are thrilled that they "DID IT".  I wanted to share some photos of our week.

By the way, I will be teaching this same workshop "on the road" when I am at M's Quilting Inspirations in Wickenburg, Arizona in November.  This will be a smaller class with less students but the same great content.  Please contact her if you are interested!  I will be offering this same design workshop next year at the Hyatt House in Rancho Cordova as well as my Beginning Machine Quilting 3-day workshop.  My Linen Wholecloth Quilts workshop is already full but I am hoping to add another one if there is interest.

I will be leaving to teach at the Australian Machine Quilting Festival in Adelaide tomorrow and can hardly wait to use my passport for the very first time!  I promise to take oodles of photos and will share once I get home.   Hugs, Cindy :)
