Kimmy Bruner recently contacted me and asked if I could donate a piece for the MQS Audacious Auction that benefits the IMQA Foundation. This is the bottom end of a pillowcase that I placed on top of a beautiful plum colored silk. I've heavily quilted it and added freshwater pearls. These photos are before it is framed.
When I teach at Sisters I always enjoy donating a piece to their silent auction that benefits the
Wish Upon A Card fundraiser. This is a portion of a cutter tablecloth. The "finished framed" size will be postcard size...you are seeing it in the rough before framing. I have some beautiful freshwater pearls that will be added.
These are two pieces that are for special thank you gifts...this white one is a corner off of a cutter tablecloth and will be framed in a 4x4" frame. Of course I have freshwater pearls and beads to add!
This lace flower one will be framed in a postcard sized frame. The background on this was quilted first...the lace flower was hand stitched down and the beadwork is nearly complete.
The Cupid quilt was bugging me...the white eyelet lace was "ok" but not right, so I scrounged thru my basket and came up with a Plan B lace which I like better. I also removed the very white binding and replaced it with a soft champagne Dupioni silk...much better! The beadwork in the scrolls is about half done and I'm very happy with how that's turning out...no ripping here!
I think I have my next long flight covered for handwork, don't you think??? Next blog post will be tips on traveling and sewing.

This is so inspiring especially when considering the finished size of some of these pieces. Trying to fathom the teeny tiny stitches. My eyes are not up to it anymore, but I sure enjoy seeing your finished pieces!

I have thought about trying your methods and seeing where it takes me. I went back to a shop I had seen many pieces at and it was gone. The shop had closed. So I am on the hunt for pieces that will work up. Do you have any tips on finding pieces or is a chance thing? Chris

Oh so yummy. All of it. I love Cupid and the changes you've made. The lace adds so much softness and a delicacy to your already exquisite stitching.
Stuffs are really nice and your current works are attracting. Pictures really attracting and this is really deserves appreciation.
