Morning Glories for Gloria...Finally DONE!!!

I started this pillowcase piece this past April while at my retreat in McCloud.  I've been carving out precious minutes at my sewing machine trying to get this done.  This will be one of the pieces for my special exhibits at the upcoming NQA Quilt Show in Columbus, OH in June and at the Pacific West Quilt Show in Tacoma, WA in August.

I took a few quick pictures to share with you...

This is just a quick overall shot...it's SO hard to get good pictures of a white piece so I have some close ups that will help...

All of the quilting was done with Superior Threads' Kimono Silk...absolutely fabulous thread...one of my favorites!  This was an especially hard piece to do as each little section is a totally separate stop and start.  oie.

Each design was echo'd three tiny times and then very tiny, close bubbles and scribbling was added for background detail.
I ran two cables in between the rows of flowers and quilted these with a heavier Superior Threads' Magnifico...another great thread!

The bottom of the pillowcase had this fabulous star with scallops on the edgings. I ran a gray, smooth Dupioni silk thru the entire length of the pillowcase and folded it under to finish the edge.  This looks a little rough here...I just got this out of the machine and still needs to be washed and pressed.

Of course I had to add pearls!!!  A few beautiful rose colored freshwater pearls were added to anchor the lace to the silk...

Thank you, Vicki Crooms, for such a beautiful gift.  I hope you approve what I've done to your pillowcase!

Hugs, Cindy :)

Such a gorgeous piece and one that is so beautifully preserved and given "new life". Have thoroughly enjoyed your Craftsy class....learned so much! Have you found a particularly good site for stencils? I know you are the "Stencil Queen" so, who better to ask?? LOL! Hugs, Doreen
