Beautiful Piece by Karen Lesueur!

I told you I had some catching up to do and some fabulous things to share with all of you!

Karen Lesueur contacted me a few days ago sharing her very first attempt at linen wholecloth quilting...first try???  Wow.  I think she's onto something!

Here's her story:

I've been a long arm quilter for a number of years.  I used to love all things Victorian and so have many linen pieces I couldn't bear to part with when I met my husband, and we went with a lodge look for our home.  Then I signed up to co-chair our guild picnic with a friend of mine who wanted to do a basket quilt theme.  I don't particularly like traditional basket quilts, but I found the linen shown and decided it was the perfect piece to try out some of the inspiration I'd gotten from looking at your site.  (I looked back to your first post) and a few others (Angela Walters, Lisa Calle, Jill Buckley, etc).  I learned a few things along the way...make sure you cross hatch is even and level before quilting or you have to do lots of frogging and re-quilting (ask me how I know).  and quilt the backgrouond before you attach the linen piece.  In the end , I'm pleased with my first attempt and plan to do others.  Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and inspiration!  I've been encouraged to enter a few quilts in our state fair.

She named her quilt Deutronomy and this is what was written on the label:

Deuteronomy 28:5  "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl".

Thank you for sharing with all of us Karen!  Hugs, Cindy :)

This is a gorgeous piece. I love it. But I am afraid to ask what frogging is.
