McCloud Time :)

This past weekend I hostessed my third retreat of the year in McCloud and had a wonderful time!  There's something very special about this place...as soon as you drive up you feel like you're home...many retreaters have said the same thing.

Everyone always brings whatever projects they wish to work on for the weekend and there is never a shortage of inspiration in the room.  This particular retreat had a few "Linen Ladies" working on their pieces and WOW...they were fabulous!  I just had to share with all of you...

Bev Armstrong is a long time, very good friend, and she is the Featured Artist at our local quilt show at the end of this month (Annie Star Quilt Guild in Chico).  She has been a Linen Lady for a long time and was working on her last piece for the show this weekend.

She was initially disappointed that the quilted star in the middle of her piece didn't show well so she added a crocheted pineapple doily in the middle and then beaded it down....beautiful!!!

Monique Figlietti had several pieces...one that she worked on and a couple that she brought for show and tell...this was a Battenburg lace piece put on Radiance Fabric...

She does beautiful applique and added her own work in the middle.  She had to add jillions of beads of course!

This was a table runner that she placed on top of cotton yardage and then quilted and beaded it to death...you should see this one in person!

Debby Bradish was also working on a beautiful piece...

This was a runner that she placed on cotton yardage.  She created her own quilting designs which are hard to see here but it is stunning in person.  She was in the midst of adding beautiful feathering around the edges to nail it down.

Janet Alexander is a fabulous Linen Lady as well but she worked on a small project off and on all weekend.  This started out as a fat quarter of a two-tone silk and it is stunning...

Besides all the beautiful quilting one of the things I enjoy the most is the love, support and sharing that occurs at these retreats.  You hate to leave on Sunday but you leave with your heart full!

Hugs, Cindy :)
