Asilomar!

I just got home Wednesday night after five days in one of my most favorite places in the world...Asilomar.  I've been teaching for Empty Spools Seminars for six years now and am already scheduled for 2015 and 2016. We are snugged right up next to the ocean and there's nothing like going to bed at night listening to the surf.

I managed to sneak in a quick walk before breakfast on the first day and it was a bit foggy and the sun was just coming up.  I LOVE the trees here...they are just amazing.

...and I managed to grab a picture of the sun coming up just above Asilomar...great way to start the day :)

I was teaching in Merrill Hall for the first time and all I can say is WOW.  This is where the evening lectures take place and there is always such a reverence and presence here.  It was very special to teach here as well.  Cool classroom, huh???

Because the Hall is so large the students had their tables lined up along the edge next to the window doors and all the lectures took place up in front by the stage.

We had oodles of room to spread out and I had the Thread Bar set up all week.   I was able to create a different display of samples each day on my felt wall.

On the last evening I played hookie...jumped into my jeans and sweatshirt, and indulged in a way overdue walk on the beach at sunset.....mmmmm....  Once you start becoming aware of designs you find them everywhere...even in the sand.  I couldn't help but notice how the receding surf had created a beautiful S-Curve type of design.

I absolutely LOVED my week with my fabulous group of students!  Can't wait to come back next year...
Next stop is Dubai!!!

Hugs, Cindy :)
