Everyone came with a nice stash of linens and we spent each morning in lecture learning how to turn their treasures into heirloom wholecloth quilts. Of course we had to spend time shopping at the quilt store for backings and underlayments and had to go to the bead store for all the beautiful embellishments.
When I don't fill a workshop I invite my "Illustrious Alumni" to join us and to work on whatever they wish for the week. Quilts ranged from a piece from Africa to working on a future grandchild's baby quilt!
Another alumni piece proved to be quite a challenge trying to figure out how the feathers were going to work. Using table vinyl and dry-erase markers to sketch things out proved to be just the right exercise for this.
...and one student created two different pieces to hold her special serving ware!
The pieces that were created were stunning...each unique in its own special way.
If you are interested in joining me for next year's workshop please let me know!!! The workshops are fun, relaxed, a bit misbehaved and VERY productive.
Big Hugs, Cindy :)
